4 FEBRUARY 2025: Laser-guided robotics and computerised cooling systems were topics discussed at this morning’s visit by secondary students to our Cannon Hill facility.

The students at Brisbane’s The Industry School are learning the technical and trades skills necessary for Australia’s industries of the future … including food processing.

They visited our engineering workshop as well as the computer and electrical departments. While there, they had a chat with ACC’s maintenance engineering manager Dean Bressow, (pictured) who discussed his career path.

They also saw the wastewater treatment plant and biofilter plant and saw the production rooms in action.

It is the third year that the school has brought students to our site. Some have returned for work experience.

Queensland is Australia’s premier beef state and, as a large meat production facility and a major local employer, ACC welcomes the opportunity to share our industry-smarts with these bright young minds.

We are looking forwards to welcoming the second cohort of the school’s students later this week.
