Leaders in international Wagyu production visited our Cannon Hill plant this week as part of the WagyuEdge national conference.
Visitors from UK, the US and Brazil toured the facility, guided by ACC’s GM Properties and Farming, Christian Coffey (right of group, below) and Supply Chain Manager Tony Laurent (left of group).
Christian said: “The biggest surprise for the visitors was the plant’s small environmental footprint, considering its size and its proximity to Brisbane’s CBD.
“Compared to a lot of their facilities we are a very well-run operation, especially in terms of quality assurance and measuring points.”
The visitors will also be touring properties and will be visiting ACC’s Brindley Park feedlot near Roma.
Last week the group attended the national breed conference in Cairns. Three ACC staff also attended the conference: Brindley Park manager Ben Attewell and Senior Manager Southern Breeding, Ryan Carter as well as Christian Coffey.
Christian said: “It continues to give us confidence about how we are building our Wagyu genetics compared to the leading genetics of the industry.”
