4 MARCH 2025: Mid-career professionals from Thailand’s agricultural and ag-research agencies visited our Cannon Hill facility and Brisbane Valley feedlot yesterday, studying ACC’s unique family-owned and operated beef supply chain.

The 26 visitors are part of the Mekong-Australia Partnership Masterclass: Building Innovative and Climate-Smart Agribusiness at The University of Queensland, supported by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs.

The masterclass was led by Professor Ammar Abdul Aziz and the Cannon Hill visit was hosted by ACC’s international sales manager Alan Kropp (pictured).

Among the topics on their agenda were: feedlot operations and best practices, sustainability and animal welfare standards, nutrition management and technology in livestock production and supply chain efficiencies from feedlot to market.

The visitors reported their surprise at the scale and scope of the feedlot operations and commented on the socialisation of the cattle.

“They were fantastic visitors,” said feedlot Administration Officer Renee Wilson. “They loved it.”

The group toured ACC’s processing facility in the afternoon, asking many questions about data and traceability.

Tour leader, Dr Ali Akbar called it “an exceptional learning opportunity” adding: “Your warm hospitality and the insights shared by your team made the experience truly valuable. Our participants thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and we deeply appreciated the opportunity to learn from ACC’s expertise in integrated beef supply chains.

“Given ACC’s leadership in feedlot management and sustainable beef production, we believe a visit to the Brisbane Valley Feedlot was an exceptional learning opportunity for our participants,” he said.
