25 SEPTEMBER 2023: The rising talent of Australia’s red meat industry gathered at our Cannon Hill facility on Friday night.
The 19 finalists of the Inter-Collegiate Meat Judging (Australian ICMJ ) awards https://icmj.com.au/ spent some hours studying our processing operations guided by our workplace training officers Tony Kickert and Rick Jurd, assisted by our R&D manager Paul Gibson.
The visitors, who are studying agribusiness and meat science at universities across Australia, were in Brisbane on a week-long industry education tour.
A five-member cohort will be selected from this group to represent Australia in the international meat judging title in the US early next year.
ACC supports the ICMJ initiative each year and formally launched the ACC 2024 graduate program on Friday.
Mr Kickert said: “We were very impressed by the quality of the students. We trust they enjoy their industry tour and wish the international team all the best.”
